ROLE DETAILS

Position: Senior Data Scientist – Assortment Optimization

Core Focus: Mathematical optimization for assortment planning, category space, and planogram strategy.

Technical Stack: Expertise in Python (optimization libraries, scikit-learn), SQL, and advanced Choice Modeling (Logit, Neural Models).

Experience: Developing optimization/predictive models. Strong analytical backgrounds from Logistics, Finance, or Tech are highly valued.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and implement optimization models for assortment and space allocation decisions.

Deliver actionable, data-driven assortment insights from large-scale retail datasets.

Evaluate predictive models and machine learning algorithms related to product substitution effects.

WHAT’S ON OFFER

Contract Duration: Initial 6 month contract with a strong chance of extension.

Remuneration: Competitive contract rates.

Start Date: Full-time hours (40 hours/week), ASAP start.

Location: Anywhere in New Zealand, fully remote role.
