Our Client is a large building contractor undertaking a range of high profile projects throughout Malta.
Due to ongoing project awards and expansion of the team, a senior procurement professional is now required to source materials and subcontractors; negotiate best prices and work closely with site teams to ensure mobilisation and timely delivery of materials to meet project deadlines.
Responsibilities include:
Sourcing materials, equipment and services whilst ensuring best possible quality, lead time and cost.
Supporting tenders by preparing procurement packages, and evaluating quotations
Negotiating rates to ensure competitive pricing
Coordinating with site / project managers to ensure materials are mobilised in best possible time
Conducting regular site visits to evaluate subcontractor and material delivery performance
Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure procurement aligns with project goals
Assisting with logistics whilst resolving any issues with delivery schedules etc
Remaining compliant with company policies, safety regulations, and legal standards in all procurement activities.
Improving procurement procedures where possible
Talent will:
Ideally have a construction background with a minimum of 2 years procurement experience
Have strong communication skills in Maltese and English
Be excellent organisers with extensive planning, problem solving and time management skills
Demonstrate strong negotiation skills and the ability to build relationships with suppliers
