The Breakfast Chef is responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality breakfast dishes in a timely manner. This role requires early starts, strong culinary skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a small morning team. The Breakfast Chef ensures that guests start their day with a delicious and well-presented meal, reflecting the standards of the establishment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Prepare and cook breakfast dishes according to menu and dietary requirements (e.g., vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free).

Ensure consistency in taste, portion control, and presentation.

Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies before service.

Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen and workstations at all times.

Monitor food stock levels and communicate any shortages or ordering needs.

Minimise food waste through proper storage, preparation, and portioning.

Ensure compliance with food safety and health regulations.

Work collaboratively with kitchen and service teams to ensure smooth morning operations.

Clean down the kitchen and equipment after breakfast service.

Requirements:

 

Proven experience as a breakfast chef, line cook, or similar role in a hotel or restaurant.

Strong knowledge of breakfast cuisine (continental, full English, American, etc.).

Excellent time management and ability to work independently during early hours.

Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
