The Food & Beverage Server is responsible for delivering exceptional service to guests. This role involves taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring a positive dining experience. The ideal candidate is friendly, efficient, knowledgeable about the menu, and committed to providing top-notch guest service.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

1. Guest Service

 

Greet guests warmly, introduce them to the dining options, and create a welcoming environment.

Present menus, answer questions about menu items, and make personalised recommendations.

Attend to guest needs throughout the dining experience, ensuring satisfaction and handling any issues promptly and professionally.

2. Order Taking and Serving

 

Take accurate food and beverage orders from guests and relay them to the kitchen or bar in a timely manner.

Serve food and beverages efficiently and courteously, ensuring that all items meet hotel standards for presentation and quality.

Follow up with guests after serving to ensure their expectations are met and offer additional assistance as needed.

3. Knowledge and Compliance

 

Maintain in-depth knowledge of menu items, specials, and promotional offerings to answer guest questions.

Follow proper health and safety protocols, including food handling and sanitation standards.

Adhere to all hotel policies, including responsible alcohol service policies, to ensure guest safety and compliance.

4. Setup and Cleanup

 

Assist in setting up dining areas, including table arrangements, place settings, and any decorations, as needed.

Clear tables promptly and reset them for incoming guests, ensuring cleanliness and readiness.

Assist in closing duties at the end of shifts, including cleaning, organising, and restocking supplies.

5. Collaboration and Communication

 

Work closely with kitchen, bar, and banquet staff to ensure seamless service.

Communicate any special requests, allergies, or dietary restrictions to the kitchen to ensure guest safety.

Relay guest feedback or issues to management for timely resolution.

 

Qualifications:

 

Education: Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience: Prior experience as a server in a restaurant or hotel environment preferred.

Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, basic math abilities for handling payments, and the ability to memorize menu items and specials.

Other: Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
