Hammett’s Collection is looking to recruit a Commis Chef to join their growing team on a full-time basis. If you are a person who is passionate about catering and takes pride in enhancing the customer experience, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in preparing ingredients (chopping, peeling, slicing, etc.)
Prepare basic dishes under supervision (soups, salads, sauces)
Support the Chef de Parties and Sous Chef
Follow instructions precisely
Keep workstations clean and organized
Set up and break down workstations at the beginning and end of shifts
Ensure mise en place (everything in its place) is ready for service
Adhere to food hygiene and safety standards (e.g., HACCP)
Keep utensils, equipment, and kitchen areas sanitized
Properly store food and ingredients to avoid spoilage
Help with receiving and storing deliveries
Key Requirements:
At least 6 months of previous culinary experience.
The necessary qualifications as well as food handling certification.
Good communication skills and an outgoing personality.
Knowledge of the English language
