An experienced Freight Forwarding Sales Executive is required by a large multinational logistics company to develop and grow their Freight Forwarding (Road, Short Sea, Deep Sea) business. The successful candidate will work closely with the current sales team, who are mainly developing the logistics business.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Commitment to win, retain and develop profitable clients.

Research and identify new business opportunities and potential clients within the freight forwarding industry. Develop a robust pipeline of prospects through various channels.

Work in conjunction with the Sales Director to develop and implement business development strategies to achieve sales targets and expand the company’s market presence.

Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients. Understand their needs and provide tailored solutions that meet their logistics requirements.

Manage the entire sales process, from initial contact to contract negotiation and closure. Ensure timely follow-up and communication with clients.

Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments. Provide insights and recommendations to senior management for strategic decision-making.

Work closely with internal teams, including operations, marketing, and product, to ensure seamless service delivery and client satisfaction.

Prepare and present regular reports on sales performance, market analysis, and business development activities to senior management.

When required, participate in industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote the company’s services and build a network of contacts.

Candidate Profile:

 

Proven sales experience with good knowledge of Road Freight and Freight Forwarding

Excellent Customer Service skills

Target-driven and passionate

Excellent presentation skills

Tender documentation and administration experience

Excellent interpersonal skills to build trust with customers

Excellent Communication skills

Proven commercial negotiating skills

Ability to work on own initiative and as a team player

Capable of maintaining performance in a pressured environment

Flexible, confident, positive, persuasive, honest, reliable

Methodical, well-organised

Full clean driver’s licence
