Meliá Hotels International in Malta is currently looking to recruit a Front Desk Agent to join the Affiliated by Meliá Hotels located in St. Julian’s, on a full-time basis.
Overview:
This person will support all the activities related to the Front Office Department.
Responsibilities:
Check-in and check-out hotel guests in a timely and professional service-oriented manner
Process all payments according to established procedures
Greet and welcome guests in a friendly, prompt, and professional manner in accordance with the hotel’s standards
Register guests, issue room keys, and provide information on hotel services and room location
Up-sell rooms when possible, to maximize hotel revenue
Accurately process all cash and credit card transactions in accordance with established procedures
Complete any required reporting (financial and non-financial)
Assist with Reservations tasks.
Communicate any outstanding guest requests or issues to management that may require additional monitoring or follow-up
Respond appropriately to guest complaints
Make appropriate service recovery gestures in order to ensure total guest satisfaction
Answer guest inquiries about hotel service, facilities, and hours of operation
Answer inquiries from guests regarding restaurants, transportation, entertainment, etc.
Collaborate on and follow company policies, practices, and procedures in order to maintain internal controls
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Candidate must be available to work various shifts including mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, and/or holidays
Must be fluent in English; other languages are preferred
1-year experience in a fast environment in the same or similar position in a hotel/resort
Passionate for Hospitality and with a strong attitude to interpersonal relationships
Good telephone persona with a friendly and helpful demeanour
Excellent skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel
Knowledge of
Opera Cloud is highly regarded.
