Whilst reporting to the Restaurant Manager, the Waiter is responsible to provide professional service to our guests dining at MYKONOS by YIAMAS. The Waiter will deliver friendly and excellent customer service to our patrons and create a welcoming atmosphere. Looking approachable and professional is of utmost importance. He/she is to be part of the waiting team by performing any waiter duties.
Duties
Serve food and beverage during the day-to-day restaurant operations
Set up tables by preparing linens, silverware and glasses
Give great customer service, being friendly and confident when interacting with both colleagues and guests
Warmly greet and serve customers
Present menus to guests and make recommendations
Have in-depth knowledge of menu and be able to provide detailed explanation of the content of the food being served
Clean and organise tables and dining areas after guests have finished their meals
Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up and dismantling the dining area, and restocking supplies as required
Adhere to the internal standard operating procedures to be followed by all front of house personnel
Comply with all employer guidelines and legal requirements for health and safety, hygiene, fire safety, licensing and employment
Perform assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with work requirements
Work Schedule
40 hours a week split as required by restaurant hours
Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings/weekends/holidays as required
Experience
Minimum experience of 1 year in the food catering industry as a waiter will be considered an asset
Knowledge and Skills Required
Professional appearance and behaviour
Able to proficiently communicate in English, additional languages are welcome especially Greek
Knowledge of Greek cuisine and culture is a plus
Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
Must be self-motivated and organised
Excellent talent to interact with people in a positive and courteous manner.
